CLARIFICATION
Many
institutions enquire, while entertaining the requests of the students of Ravenshaw University (RU) for placement, participation in
events, admissions or employment, whether RU has been approved by the UGC under
Section 2 (F) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act.
Many
are indeed not aware that RU has secured these approvals as early as in July
2007. The relevant notifications are available at the link:

Similarly
questions are asked about RU’s memberships in the Association of Indian
Universities. Ravenshaw was constituted as a
University in November 2006. Its application for membership of AIU was first
submitted in August, 2007. At their instant, another application with a bank
deposit of Rs 50,000 as membership fee was submitted
in May, 2009. The ratification of membership in AIU is now expected any time.
Pending
grant of membership, the AIU has made it possible for the students and faculty
of RU to participate in any academic or co-curricular activity, and not suffer
any prejudice on this account during this period of waiting. The letter, numbered
MEET/MEM/2009/194 dated May 14, 2009, received from AIU on this subject is also
available.
