The department endeavors to strengthen infrastructure facilities including development of laboratories and smart classrooms, recruitment of teaching and non-teaching personnel. Recruitment of new faculty in required fields of specializations will be the hallmark of the objective identified above. Fully-equipped RS and GIS lab with at least 20 computers with accessories forms the top priority of the Department among others. We intend to promote research in the Core research areas of Department like Urban Regional Planning, Population Health, Natural Resource Management, Social Geography, Applications of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) and develop the department as a Centre for Advance studies in Remote Sensing (RS)&Geographical Information System(GIS).
