Pursuing PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication from Utkal University, Sumit Kumar Behera has more than 12 years of industry and academic experience. He has done his Master of Arts in Development Journalism and Electronic Communication from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and qualified UGC NET in Journalism and Mass Communication. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Law from University Law College, Utkal University. He has worked as a journalist for Hindustan Samachar, a multilingual news agency, Odisha Television Private Limited, Senior Crime Reporter for Orissa Post, Senior Correspondent for Focus Odisha/ News World Odisha news channel and Sanket Advertising Agency.  He has presented paper in a national conference held at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, Government of India among others. His research interest area includes New Media, Tribal Life and Culture, Communication, Media analysis.
