Dr. Nihar Ranjan Singh, completed his M.Sc. in Botany from Ravenshaw (Autonomous) College, now Ravenshaw University, Cuttack with a specialization in biochemistry. He also had a post-graduation diploma in bioinformatics from the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore. He completed his doctoral studies from Université de la Réunion, France (2005-2008) and his doctoral research was on glycoxidative stress and protein carbonylation in adipocytes. After completing his doctoral work, he pursued postdoctoral research at CMRG, School of Physiological Sciences, Stellenbosch University, RSA (2009-2010) before joining Ravenshaw University as an assistant professor. He has more than 11 years of teaching and research experience in the field of plant biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. His present research work involves understanding different aspects of plant biochemical processes like proteome modification using multi-omics approaches. His interests is also in the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and in exploring anti-glycation properties from ethnomedicinal plants of Odisha. He has published more than 30 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals of national and international repute. Apart from that he authored two books and five book chapters to his credit.
