Programs

The Economics Department offers Ph.D. program, Post Graduate and Under Graduate programs. The courses, number of seats and eligibility criteria for each course/program is given below:

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Economics

  • Duration: 3 year
  • Total number of seats: 16

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Economics

  • Duration: 3 year
  • Total number of seats: 80

Integrated B.Sc. | B.Ed. - Economics

  • Duration: 4 year
  • Total number of seats: 05

Eligibility for Admission into B.Sc. in Economics :

Minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary Science) without the mark in extra optional, if any. The above marks for eligibility are relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates.

A candidate has to secure 50% or more than 50% to be eligible to apply for a subject. No fraction of percentage below 50% shall be taken into consideration. Admission shall be made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent).

Eligibility for Admission into B.A. in Economics :

Master of Arts (M.A.) - Economics

Eligibility for Admission into M.A. :

Admission into M.A. Economics requires a second class honours with minimum 50% marks in the Economic Honours / 50% in Economics.

The merit list for admission into PG courses is prepared on the basis of performance of the candidate in the entrance test and career as per SAMS Guidelines, Govt. of Odisha.

Ph.D. :

The seats are declared before admission depending on the vacancies available with the supervisors.

Self-Financing Program

Master of Arts (M.A.) – Rural Development

  • Duration: 2 year
  • Total number of seats: 40

IMPORTANT :

A student who was earlier admitted/ has passed one Postgraduate course in one subject from Ravenshaw University will not be allowed to apply for admission into another Undergraduate/ Postgraduate course in this University. If any such violation is detected later, the admission will stand cancelled.
