Prof. Soumendra Kumar Patra is working as Sr. Assistant Professor in the area of Quantitative Techniques and Decision Science. He has 21 years of rich experience consisting of 7 years of corporate experience and 14 years in academics. A Ph.D.in the area of Operations Management from Utkal University. Prior to academia, he has worked in HCC Limited (Walchand Hirachand group), a leading public limited company headquartered in Mumbai in two different projects in the area of Procurement and Materials Management. In addition to his passion for teaching, he is also involved in projects from Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi (Ministry of MHRD, Govt. of India) and University Grant Commission, New Delhi in social sector as Project Investigator. One scholar has been successfully awarded Ph.D under his able guidance and currently three scholars are continuing their research work. Prof. Patra is a competent researcher in his domain and has published more than 80 research papers including six papers in Scopus indexed journals, two text books and three reference books. He has delivered about 25 training programmes on Research Methodologies especially in SPSS and AMOS in National Institute of Technology and different B-schools affiliated to AICTE and also in other Central and State Universities. He is recognised resource person to many reputed organisations including Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI), Cuttack Odisha, Odisha State Finance Corporation and others.
