The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Ravenshaw University offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate programmes in the self-financing mode. The course fees, number of seats and eligibility criteria for each course is mentioned below:

Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication:

  • Total number of seats: 32

Eligibility :

50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary) without the mark in extra optional, if any.

The above marks for eligibility are relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates.

A candidate must secure exactly 50% or more than 50% to be eligible to apply for a subject. No fraction of percentage below 50% shall be taken into consideration. Admission shall be made based on merit in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent).

Master of Journalism and Mass Communication

 

  • Total number of seats: 40

Eligibility :

Any candidate with a minimum of 45% marks from a UGC/AICTE recognized institute at bachelor’s level can apply.

However, a candidate seeking admission will have to appear the entrance test conducted by the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. Following which, a merit list for admission into PG courses will be prepared based on the performance of the candidate in the entrance test and career. 

IMPORTANT :

A student who was earlier admitted/ has passed a Postgraduate course in any subject from Ravenshaw University will not be allowed to apply for admission into another Undergraduate/ Postgraduate course in this University. If any such violation is detected later, the admission will stand cancelled.
