Dr. Rabiul Ansary holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography. Dr. Ansary completed his M.A. M.Phil and Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University in the field of population studies. His boarder area of training is in Human Geography. His area of research interest is Migration, Social and Economic mobility, sustainable livelihood, population and development, Livelihood, and Nutrition. He has developed expertise in conducting large scale field survey and analysing large scale data. He gained much needed training on nationally representative micro-level data sets of India such National Sample Survey and Demographic Health Survey of India and Census of India. Dr. Ansary has extensive Research and Teaching experiences both international and national level. He worked as UNICEF-State Consultant, Social Policy Technical Support Unit (SPTSU) at State Planning Commission of Chhattisgarh, India. He also worked as Research Associate under V.V.G. National Labour Institute (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India) and Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi, India. Dr. Ansary worked as Project Assistant under Prof. Robert McCaa, University of Minnesota Population Center. He has authored various publications journals of international and national repute. He attended international conferences in countries like USA, Russia, Brazil and South Africa for which he received full travel grant from the organisers. He has also technical skills in SPSS, STATA and Arch-GIS.
