Prof Shyam Sundar Acharya did his Masters in Political science in the renowned Jawaharlai Nehru University, New Delhi. He was awarded Ph. D from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He has adorned the office of the Head of the Department of Social Science, FM University twice. He was the Director of Research of F M University. After superannuation he is visiting faculty in Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. He has a number of books to his credit like Value Orientation of Legislative elites. , Criminalization of Indian politics, Political Economy of Development of Odisha. He has contributed numerous research articles both inside India and outside. He has produced successfully ten Ph. D scholars besides quite a number of M. Phil scholars.
