The Hindi Department of Ravenshaw University is one of the oldest Hindi departments in the country. In the early days, the Hindi Department was headed by the famous litterateur Dr. Tarini Charan Das. Eminent educationists such as Smt. Anji Dey, Mr. Maya Ram Bhatt, Prof. R. Prasad, Prof. Radhakant Mishra, Dr. Ajay Kumar Patnaik, Dr. Pranati Mohanty, Prof. Rabindra Nath Mishra and Prof. Smarpriya Mishra who led the Department at various time progressively promoted Hindi language and literature. Presently, the Department has two faculty members Dr. Anjuman Ara and Dr. Abhishek Sharma.
