She has been imparting education to students of this department since 2009. She has done her Ph.D. in sociology in the year 2017 at the prestigious Ravenshaw Universityon ‘Empowering Women through Self-Help groups: A Study of Applique workers of Pipili, Odisha’. She is skilled in teaching UG and PG students alike and specializes in papers like Gender Studies, General Sociology, Indian Society, Rural Sociology, Social Thought, Industrial Sociology, Political Sociology,

Urban Sociology and Research Methodology. She qualified UGC NET in the year 2014. Another one of her qualifications includes B.Ed. from RadhaNath Training College in 1997. Her publications include ‘Self-Help groups: Catalyst for Women’s Empowerment’ in 2014 and‘Women’s Empowerment: A Conceptual View’ in 2015.Her major areas of research interest include Gender Studies, Disaster Studies, Rural Sociology, Industrial Sociology and Urban Sociology. Furthermore, she had served as Guest Faculty in the department of Rural Development at Ravenshaw University from 2011 to 2014 and serves, since 2009, as a counselor at IGNOU Study Centre, Ravenshaw University.
