Dr. Umesh C. Naik is Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany. He has more than 7 years of teaching and research experiences. He completed his PhD degree on Environmental Microbiology at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 2013. Dr. Naik has worked on development of sequential treatment system of using activated charcoal and  metal resistant bacteria strain for the detoxification of electroplating effluent using advanced analytical techniques. His current research focuses on the uptake mechanism of oxyanions by metal resistant microbes and development of antimicrobial compounds against pathogenic strains.
