She holds the position of Professor in the Department of Zoology and has over 22 years of rich cross-functional experience in Academics and Administration. She completed Ph.D. in 2007 from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and the thesis work was based on “Studies on pesticidal impacts of Carbaryl and Monocrotophos on Haematological and Biochemical indices of Clarias batrachus (LINN.)”. She has received Certificate of Exemplary Performance as Best Faculty along with special appreciation certificate in bringing the honour of achieving ISO 9001: 2000 and NAAC accreditation process at her previous organization N V Patel College of Pure and Applied Sciences, under Sardar Patel University, Gujarat. She has special interest in PAH aquatic toxicology, Marine Plankton- nutrient modelling and taxonomy with special reference to pollution in the coastal waters of Bay of Bengal, Odisha. Her group has participated in coastal sampling survey cruise through ‘Sagar Manjusha’ along the entire stretch of Bay of Bengal, Odisha in collaboration with SAC-ISRO and vessel participation approved by NIOT, Chennai, Government of India. Her present focus is on developing integrated biomarkers for coastal pollution and identification of planktons as bioindicator species.
