Broad Research Areas in Philosophy

The department of philosophy has a reach legacy of research in different avenues of philosophy. The “Logic” book written by late Ambika Ch. Mishra was referred and studied throughout the country. History of Modern Western Philosophy written by the great philosopher of Odisha Professor Ratnakar Pati is a stepping stone of any student studying philosophy across the state and beyond. The department, therefore, carry forward this legacy of engaged in developing text books for the benefit of students. Recently two books Social and Political Philosophy” and “An Introduction to Philosophy of Language” written by Dr. Patitapaban Das are referred by the state model syllabus for UG students. The department is also involved in cutting-edge research in different emerging fields. Some of the areas of research undertaken by the department:
