Professor Subrata Kumar Acharya obtained his Masters (1983), M. Phil (1985) and Ph. D (1992) from Sambalpur University. His area of specialization is  Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology with special interest in Epigraphy and Paleography, Regional History of Odisha, Numismatics, Chalcolithic and maritime history of Eastern India. He is teaching in the Department of History, Ravenshaw University, since 2010, and now serving as the Head of the Department. With the teaching and research experience of more than 36 years, he supervised many scholars in different areas of history and archaeology.
