About Department

The Department of BCA envisions the establishment of a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) Wing to foster beyond-syllabus scholarly activities. Plans are underway to set up a Software Development Laboratory to address the software needs of the university, offer consultancy services, and provide software outsourcing solutions. The department aims to build collaborations with industries and research organizations to promote impactful research. A dedicated research journal is also in the pipeline to showcase and disseminate research outputs to the wider community.


Vision

The Department of Information Science and Telecommunications (IST) was established during the pre-university phase of Ravenshaw. Over the years, it has achieved significant milestones, laying a strong foundation in Information Technology and Telecommunication Sciences. In 2024, the course was renamed as the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) to better align with evolving academic and industry demands. The department remains committed to delivering a top-tier teaching-learning environment, offering high-quality education in Computer Applications. It is dedicated to nurturing students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies essential for excellence in a dynamic digital landscape. With a strong focus on employability, the department actively engages with industries and corporate sectors, preparing students to meet real-world challenges.
