Dr. Sarat Kumar Rout is Associate Professor in School of Education, Ravenshaw University. Dr. Rout has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience. Before joining in Ravenshaw University, he has served as junior project fellow in DTEE, NCERT, New Delhi Lecturer in B.Ed Department, RCIT, GGSIP University, New Delhi and Programme Officer in DEP-SSA, IGNOU, New Delhi. Dr. Rout completed his M.A from erstwhile Ravenshaw College, Utkal University in 1999, M.Phil from Radha Nath Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (RNIASE), Utkal University in 2001 and Ph.D from Department of Education, University of Lucknow, Uttarpradesh in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. K.C. Sahoo. His Ph.D work reflected the utilization status of educational media in teaching-learning process at elementary school. He has published 49 research papers/theoretical articles/book reviews in peer reviewed national and international journals. Dr. Rout has authored two books and contributed 12 chapters in edited books published by leading national publishers in the area of Educational Technology; Community Involvement under Decentralization Process, Curriculum and Assessment Practices at School and Higher Education institutions. His current research interest is focused on development and use of Open Educational Resources; use of innovative ICT tools for teaching as well as assessment at school and higher education institutions.
