Ravenshaw has produced eminent personalities like Mayadhar Mansingh, Kalindi Charan Panigrahi, Baikuntha Patnaik, Rama Chandra Behera, Prasanna Patsani and many other litterateurs whose list is virtually endless. It has also shaped international leaders like Biju Patnaik and renowned scientist Dr Prana Krushna Parija, all of whom were the boarders of West Hostel. 

Currently,  West Hostel serves to be the residence of 180 boarders from various departments of UG, PG and Phd. It ensures unity , peaceful environment and best management possible for the boarders who live here. Along with that, it encourages all its boarders to participate in different co curricular activities of their passion (sports/literature) and provide ample opportunities for a progressive future.
