Prof. Mohanty has more than four decades of teaching and administrative experience. He superannuated on August 2011 as a dedicated and a distinguished teacher from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. His research interest focused on bioinorganic reaction mechanisms and synthesis of coordination complexes and exploring their reactivity and biological activity. He has to his credit over 70 publications and supervised 15 doctoral students. He has co-authored two books which have been published by NCERT, New Delhi. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Orissa Chemical Society Best Teacher Award for the year 2011. Prof. Mohanty is currently serving as a visiting professor in the Department of Chemistry, Ravenshaw University.
