Seetaram Mohaptra

Dr. Mohapatra obtained his M.Sc from Berhampur University, Berhampur (1999) and M.Phil from same University in 2001. Then he did Ph.D from NCL, Pune under the supervision of Dr. Mukund Gurjar in 2008. His postdoctoral work at University of Southwestern Medical Research Center, Dallas, Texas, USA consisted of medicinal chemistry research (2008-2009). He further continued his postdoctoral research in Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA (2009-2010).From may 2011 onwards, he had been associated with Ravenshaw University. The focus of Mohapatra’s group include small molecule synthesis by employing new catalytic reactions with focus on stereoselective transformation with unique structural features and biological properties.

Research

  1. Catalytic Reaction
  2. Medicinal Chemistry
  3. Natural Product Synthesis
  4. Carbohydrate Chemistry

Our group is interested in four general areas of research. We develop new catalytic reactions with focus on stereoselective transformation. We synthesize small molecules with unique structural features and biological properties. We integrate our work into medicinal chemistry collaborations with laboratories like IICT-Hyderabad, SOA University, KIIT University, DRDE Gwalior and ICGEB, New Delhi.
