Dr. Mohanty is an Assistant Professor (Stage-I) at the Department of Economics, Ravenshaw University. Before joining Ravenshaw University, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research, Ahmedabad, during 2017-22. She was a Consultant at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi, and was a Research Fellow at the National Law University, Delhi. She was associated with the Punjab Governance Reforms Commission in the capacity of a Research Associate in 2011. She was an Assistant Professor (ad-hoc) at the Department of Economics, College of Vocational Studies, the University of Delhi, in 2010. She obtained her PhD and MPhil degrees from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She also received the JRF and SRF fellowships from the UGC during 2008-2013. She obtained her M.A in Economics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. She completed one ICSSR research project and presented papers at national and international conferences. She has also rendered her professional services as a reviewer at international journals: International Journal of Educational Development (Elsevier) and Journal of Economics, Race and Policy (Springer). She had rendered her professional services as a keynote speaker, resource person and consultant at various organizations of national repute like Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat; SPIESR, Ahmedabad and NUEPA, New Delhi. Recently, she co-ordinated a two-day national seminar on “Changing Characteristics of Indian Labour Market: Issues and Challenges in the Backdrop of Covid-19” (7-8 July, 2022). She has published her research in various SCOPUS-indexed and UGC-CARE-listed journals. Currently, she teaches Microeconomics and Introductory Econometrics to under graduate students at the Department of Economics.
